A Holistic Approach To Healing
In Out of the Mud, I share how yoga and Ayurveda helped me restore my health, find happiness, and let go of self-doubt, shame, and fear.
It’s both a personal story and a practical guide, filled with simple tools, insights, and guided meditations to help you create more calm and balance in your life.

A self-help book for more balance
When I was seventeen, my father passed away as a result of depression. His illness and loss brought a lot of grief and stress into my life, which eventually led to a panic disorder and irritable bowel syndrome.
I lived with these symptoms for nearly ten years, until I discovered yoga. Through yoga, I learned to understand my body and slowly release the shame I had been carrying for so long, both around my anxiety and my father’s death.
That’s why I wrote this book: to support others and help them see that they don’t have to hide and that they’re not broken.
This book will help you:
- Step out of your head with guided meditations
- Understand where panic attacks come from and how to stop them
- Calm your gut using Ayurvedic principles
- Turn vulnerability into strength
- Support your immune system with a dozen simple Ayurvedic recipes
How is the book structured?
Out of the Mud combines my personal story with chapters divided into three themes: Mind, Food, and Body.
My Story
In My Story, I share my journey—from my first panic attack and losing my father, to discovering surfing, moving to Bali, and navigating the highs and lows of life on the island.
Mind
In this chapter, we explore how the mind works and the impact of stress. I explain how panic attacks arise and how you can stop them.
Food
This chapter looks at scientific research on the connection between the gut and the brain, and explains what Ayurveda is.
Body
Here, I guide you through yoga exercises, breathing techniques, and meditations so you can immediately start increasing your inner calm.
